Contrary to popular belief, “Worry” is not one of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible. Yet all of us face periods of life in which we are consumed with worry. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus tells us not to worry, but to instead seek Him first. In asking myself what it means to “seek after God,” I think about the intense effort I make when looking for things I’ve misplaced – like my keys when I’m running late for work. Ha! So, I ask myself, do I spend the same amount of effort seeking after Him? Seeking after God requires daily effort on our part in order to know Him and be know by Him.
